ABOUT GNN
Get Networking Now (GNN) was founded in 2005 by Rebecca Johnson. Originally, it’s premise was very simple: a calendar that would provide any business owner with a comprehensive overview of all networking opportunities available in and around the Sacramento Area.
This was just one tool that Rebecca found was missing in her “business tool kit” when marketing her (then) Security Business. As she continued to network and market to other businesses, she realized that there were many things that she could have used and that the small business owner could use as well.
In 2007, Rebecca found herself in a transitional point in her life with the closing of her Security Company. She and her husband Dan Johnson, decided to take the calendar and build upon it, a resource for small to medium sized businesses.
Three years later, GNN is the most comprehensive business to business networking association (on and offline) connecting businesses at the local level.
GNN’s Mission: To Change the face of local, regional, and national business networking by providing an atmosphere of Integrity, Respect and Professionalism and a platform for building long lasting business relationships that provide a return on your networking investment.
Our Philosophy is based on growing business through long lasting relationships. We recognize that there are multiple people doing the same thing in the same industries, and they all serve a purpose to their individualized target market. Our networking is set on the premise that people do business with those they know, like and trust. It is our responsibility to foster an environment where people give referrals based on the relationship they have built with someone, rather than on the auspices that they are required to give it to them because of the “rules” of the networking group.
We provide both a semi-exclusive networking environment (“All About Referrals” Leads Group) and an open networking environment for people to socialize and build relationships naturally.
Our semi-exclusive group does not believe in fines, or forcing someone to pass referrals. It is built on the foundation that if you do give a referral, you are giving it because you know, like and trust the person that you are giving it to and that you will also hold yourself accountable for ensuring that the referral you gave would be followed up on in a timely manner. We reward members for their referrals, their follow up and their ability to bring fortune to their fellow group members.
